Together and Stronger Central AsiaCommunity leaders
For associations and those who lead them.
Hometown associations, alumni networks, business councils, cultural and faith communities have always carried people far from home. Together and Stronger Central Asia exists to make them stronger, never to replace them.
Every kind of association the communities of Central Asia have built.
Old or newly formed, registered or informal, twenty members or twenty thousand: every association is welcome.
Hometown associations
Organised by country, region or town of origin: the first door many newcomers knock on.
Alumni associations
Graduates of the same university or school, in every city where they now work.
Business councils and chambers
Founders, traders, investors and professionals who open doors for one another.
Professional associations
Doctors, nurses, engineers, accountants, lawyers and teachers whose qualifications must be recognised again.
Student and scholar associations
The first community of a student or researcher who arrives alone.
Cultural and language-school associations
Weekend heritage-language schools, music, dance and literature circles.
Faith communities
Congregations, parishes, mosques, temples and synagogues that carry families through good times and hard ones.
Associations of nationals abroad
Clubs, chambers, alumni circles and parents’ groups of the people of Central Asia living in other countries.
What your association receives, and what it keeps.
The arrangement is simple. Your association gains a network and keeps everything that is its own.
It receives
A place in the network
Your association joins free, as a recognised member of the Together and Stronger network.
The benefits, for every member
Each of your members can hold the member card and use every programme we negotiate.
Visibility
Families, students and professionals who arrive in your city can find you through us.
A voice
Your association tells us what its members need most, and that is what we carry to the negotiating table.
Practical resources
Free guides your officers can share, Scam Watch alerts and the Consular Desk.
The Mutual Aid Compact
A place among the associations that stand together when a member dies far from home.
It keeps
Its name
Your association is listed under its own name, in its own language.
Its money
We never ask for your accounts, your dues or a share of anything you raise.
Its leadership
Your officers, your rules and your elections remain entirely your own.
Its independence
Your association joins a network. It does not become a branch of anyone.
Its members’ privacy
We never ask for your membership list. Each member joins, or not, on their own.
Its other affiliations
Federations, partnerships and ties you already have continue unchanged.
The Mutual Aid Compact.
The Compact is a commitment between the associations of the network: when a member dies far from home, they stand together to bring that member home, or to give them a dignified farewell where they lived.
It is the oldest duty of the hometown association, and the one that weighs most heavily on a small community raising money alone in the worst week of a family’s life. Together, the weight is shared.
